Lagtime is a three-piece, improv–fusion band. Our music is rooted in rocky fusion, but spans topics such as jazz, funk, reggae and blues. We live mostly down deep in the pocket, but with the liberating guidance of jazz, we make brief re–surfacings to the head to remind you of where you (we) are.

With us, interplay is the name of the game as each member feeds off the others. Rock-solid beats and jazzy tendencies open the door for groove–based, blues–inspired bass lines and a tapestry of infectious melodies and rock–god solos. [website]

“Wonderful, colorful arrangements and warm, human sounding vocals….top notch,” —Don Campau, DJ at No PigeonHoles Radio.”

Singing about faith, love and loss, San Francisco songwriter Deborah Crooks is an intimate and edgy artist whose lyric driven and soul-wise music has drawn comparison to Lucinda Williams, Jesse Sykes and The Cowboy Junkies. Widely published as an essayist and journalist, her lyrics are honed by a lifetime of writing, while her music draws on folk, rock, Americana and the blues. Her first full length CD “Adding Water to the Ashes,” (2008) garnered favorable reviews and led to her receiving a Bay Bridged Recording Grant to record at Tiny Telephone Studios. The result is the new EP “It’s All Up to You” featuring 7 new tracks that range from acoustic pop to folk-rock to blues. Deborah has also showcased at the 2006 Millennium Music Conference, the 2005 Rocker Girl Magazine Music Convention, during SXSW, at the 2007 Harmony Festival and 2009’s California Music Fest. In 2010, she also appeared as a featured speaker on purpose and creativity at both MacWorld and SXSW.

The Yes Go's

The Yes-Go’s
http://www.myspace.com/theyesgos
The Yes Go’s were started by Sophie V writing music & playing songs on the guitar. In 2003, Lester Moore joined as drummer & back-up vox. With the addition of Mimi on lead vocals and Barbara on bass that summer, we became “Wednesday Night”. 5 days before our 1st gig, Mimi & Barbara (our Hungarian Hotties) were not allowed to stay in the U.S.A. (visa probs!) & we played our 1st show as a duo called Sik Suzan. In 2004, Blue Lew (Rotton Core), joined the band on bass & b.vox. We played shows off/on and had lots of fun, but we (BL. not inc.) drank too much, and we still didn’t really have an identity. Through Blue Lew’s departure in Summer 2006, it was back to a duo & the new name of The Yes Go’s fall ‘06 when the multi-facetd Djuna Gray became our bass player. It’s been balls to the walls ever since and The Yes Go’s love to play (alot) & can be found playing with many local & touring bands. We are continually amazed at the talent we see at all of S.F.’s venues. We are proud to share the bill with & be awed by such killer bands. Go out and see some shows cause we support local venues and killer music as well, cheers. [myspace]
